Beatles Vinyl Provides Music Lovers Something To Sing About    by Seth Frank

Whatever the industry, revolutions aren’t common enough to easily find. Typically there’s a leader who destroys barriers and paves the way for others to use. The most significant advances in the music business came from these revolutions. There were revolutionaries prior to the Beatles, but nobody had an effect as major or long term as they did. Although the Beatles got off to a tough start in America with Capitol Records, their popularity in the United Kingdom had already given them a firm stepping stone to become legends. If not for the loyalty of the Beatles’ European fans there may not have ever been a “British Invasion”.

Back in the early 60′s, the lads from Liverpool started their careers as many musicians did (and still do): they toured around in small clubs gathering a fan base hoping for a record company to notice them. It was London based EMI that did take notice and signed the boys for an exclusive recording deal. This made it possible for them to cut their first Beatles vinyl record with a major label. As soon as the American branch of EMI, Capitol Records, got a hold of their recordings, they weren’t happy with the music or their haircuts. It was 1963 and the record industry was dealing with Elvis’ hip swinging upheavals. The last thing they desired was more controversy involving these long haired pop stars, but then CBS News transformed everything.

An article about British Beatlemania sparked a need for Capitol to rush out the Beatles vinyl record of “I Want to Hold Your Hand” in 1963. The single went right to number one just after the article was released. The Beatles traveled to the states for their earliest American concert tour in February 1964. By that juncture “I Want to Hold Your Hand” had already distributed over two million copies. They were already greatly popular throughout America by the time they landed their first event on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Flash forward to today’s music lovers and many will see that the Beatles vinyl recordings are some of the most popular items in the vinyl record hobbyist’s world. Naturally, these recordings are meant to be heard with a proper audio system like the kind produced by Rega. As it turns out, Rega turntables are made and sold from the Beatles’ home base of London. Rega turntables are amazing enough to be backed by some of the best sound engineers in the business because of their accurate sound reproduction and insides. Though Rega removes some features, they choose better parts to make a perfectly reproduced sound from vinyl albums.

Rega turntables and Beatles vinyl, although from different eras, is an incredible combination that needs to be heard to be believed!
