About Music School
To be in the music industry is an aspiration many of us wish to come true. Though the many advices and directions students go in, they generally follow the wrong way and misinformed on how toget a head start towards the industry. To be able be successful within this industry, a person has to experience a passion and love for music, otherwise, this job may have little reward for you. Entering to the music industry through attending music school is the means many students decide to follow that somehow offers you little reward of all the hard work dedicated. Although, you are able to still find other opportunities and options around.
Let us take a look at those who have been successful in the field: Jay-Z, Kanye West, ‘Lil Wayne, Brian Eno, and Randy Jackson, for example. None of them have any degrees from colleges or underwent any formal training. What these people did was they ask for work in the studio; are the hard as they could to understand everything around them and apply it for their work. This is the key to that makes it in the music industry.
Studying at music schools and possessing a college degree is always the answer. With schools, their tuition fees could rise any time and can be extremely expensive. There is several college tuitions that charges up to $100,000 not including books, materials plus, it also make you lose income for some schools who are time consuming which means you have cut down working hours or just quit your job. This indeed enough time. 4 years in a learning institution just isn’t everyone’s option and one could go out and work for that period.
Entertainment Connection is a program that provides an substitute for music school; a more structured technique of learning by working. Entertainment Connection has this mentor-apprentice program assigning each student to be individually guided with a mentor or a working professional in the industry and send students to work together with people in the business. This works very similarly to an internship, except an internship may not give you the educational experience that students are looking for. Through the program, students follow a set curriculum and their mentors have to help them learn, rather than rely on them as assistants or maids, as most internships do. In exchange, students get to work in the real studio, learning on the technology that is in use, from someone who is successful from the music business, meeting recording artists, corporate executives, and many others.
