Does Exercise Have To Cost You The Earth?
Just the other day I saw this fancy new treadmill that my friend had bought. The machine has a number of advanced features. You can adjust the speed at which you run and can even listen to music to reduce the monotony of your workouts. The treadmill looks great and is well built. I am sure that it is a very expensive machine.
My friend bought a great pair of running shoes and some good looking sportswear that he wears when he runs on the treadmill; which is not quite often. I don’t think he uses the machine more than two or three times a week. He does spend an awful lot of time cleaning up the machine and making sure that it is spotless.
There is point in buying such a fancy sports equipment when you are not going to use it very often. As a matter of fact treadmills, cross-trainers and elliptical trainers are the first thing that we think of when we want to start an exercise regimen.
That simply is not true! There are other cheaper ways to exercise that will not cost a small fortune. If I wanted to run I would buy a pair of jogging shoes and set off running on a jogging track in the great outdoors. But that is my personal choice. I would feel stifled running in my house on a machine. Skipping rope is another great way of exercising that provides you with an excellent aerobic workout.
You could also consider buying a pair of dumbbells to exercise your upper body muscles. You can do a variety of exercises with a pair of dumbbells. You can get the cardiovascular exercise by running and skipping and dumbbells can help you to build muscle. A number of instructional DVDs are available, that can help you in workouts.
