First Date Ideas
When thinking about concepts for a first date I like to try new stuff. Instead of serve what any one of us enjoys I try and find something totally new. This is my method of starting the relationship with a big bang and some excitement. Dinner and a film have been overdone and so have visits to bars and clubs. Give a couple of these concepts a shot and you’ll be nicely shocked.
Skydiving I haven’t attempted this out for a first date idea yet but it feels like it might actually be great (provided neither of you are afraid of heights). It’s exhilarating and standing together at the door of an aircraft about to leap out at one or two thousand feet has a charming appeal that not a lot of other stuff can match. Call your local civic airfield to work out if they have any skydiving instructors. Hookah Cafeterias if you are not one of the enlightened who enjoys Middle Eastern food and hookah then you must definitely give it a try. It may not be a nice option for the health aware but for the rest of us it makes a good first date. Hookah cafeterias are usually busy places with a chilled out and comfortable atmosphere and are an excellent spot to smoke a hookah, enjoy some coffee and have a pleasant conversation. This works particularly well for college kids as there are customarily many cafes close by.
Art Conventions / Studios One of my favorite places to have a first date is at the monthly art walk they have here thru the central area. Artists and sellers get together and line the streets. Musicians play their music for you as you walk around and take in the design. It works miracles for anyone that can appreciate art. Live Comedy Another astounding option for first dates is local comedy clubs.
There are a few actually wonderful ones in my area featuring both pro and beginner local comedy acts. This is a terrific way to break the ice, with some chortles. Wine Tasting / Tours If you live somewhere close to vineyards taking a tour or going to a wine tasting make fantastic first dates ( so long as you are 21+ ).
One or two good wines and good conversation hidden away on a vineyard appears calm to me and has done incredible things for me during the past. Scuba Diving if you’re sufficiently lucky to get live close to the beach snorkeling or underwater diving make great date activities. Follow a romp in the sea with a pleasant beach dinner and you’ve got the makings of love.
Poetry Readings / Book Signings Poetry readings make great first dates and if you are the adventuresome type you may even whip up a peace to read your date at the reading. Talk about a method to score some points! Book signings are also great even if you aren’t very into books. You can enjoy coffee and conversation with your date and often enjoy a dramatic reading from the writer.
